The stones that have no association with a particular Goddess or God are considered all purpose and can be used for any working. Just be sure to match up the color to the need or the desired outcome of your working. Cleanse and consecrate your stones with the other items you intend to use in your ritual and set them on your altar or drop them as you draw your circle as a physical representation of it. They can be sewn into poppets or placed under pillows or mattresses to aid in healing or promote healthy sleep. They hold the scents of essential oils well, so they can be added to potpourri, cleaned and reused later.

Like your other tools, your stones will have to be spiritually recharged every few weeks. I reccommend keeping them on (or in, as the case may be), your altar, as they will be cleansed and consecrated with your other tools more easily if they are within reach.

Good places to get the right stones without spending a lot of money are:

* Craft Shops (Michael's, Ben Franklin's).

* Metaphysical Specialty Shops.

* Science Centers.

* Planetariums.

* Souvenir Shops (Most souvenir shops have bins of stones that you can scoop out and take home at a 'per bag' price. I bought a nice sized bag of assorted stones when I was in Las Vegas on my wedding trip).

* Nature's Wonders (In most shopping malls).

* Stream or creek beds (Even if they aren't the exact variety, the stones you'll get from a creek or stream will be smooth, pretty and vary in color - and they're free!).

* Book Stores (On occasion book stores will have a set that includes a book and a few stones, sometimes even with a pendant helix, which can really come in handy).
