[ Greetings From the Cabbage Patch. ]

This is one of the things I bought with the money my wonderful MIL sent me for xmas:

I never had one when I was a kid (except for a gorgeous blonde look-alike doll that my grandmother had her friend make for me), and now I will. She's going to be sent out today and should be here by the weekend. The cost? Too much, most likely, but it was worth it to have a real dolly from the Cabbage Patch, born in 1985. Her name is Carol Maria. The only thing that would make her even cooler to me is if she had blue eyes. I have silvery blue eyes and as we all know, every little girl wants a doll who looks like her (hence my hatred for Barbie the expressionless plastic slut with her little feet permanently welded in the high heel position), even girls who at age 33 aren't so little any more.

Some people are in touch with their inner child; I am my inner child.

* jumping up and down *

I am I am I am!!

Sorry, I just had to do that.

Anyway, Miss Zo-etta seems to finally be bonding with her Cabbage Patch doll so now we can play dolls together. I also won auctions for two more dolls, a preemie and another crib snuggler, both used, but since we'll be playing with them it won't matter. They're clean and that's what's important. I wanted Zoe's doll to be MIB and got lucky because my doll is MIB too (Mint In Box), so we'd have the papers but the fact that the second pair aren't doesn't mean we won't love them. I also have other dolls, still in their boxes, that are waiting for her to be old enough to play with them. They're called My Special Angel, and as far as I know, they aren't being produced any more. I wish I could find a picture to post because they're so cute. Due to their facial similarities I think the Bratz were modeled after the My Special Angel dolls.

Imagine the Bratz with larger, softer bodies and angel gear.

Anyway, those angels are really beautiful. They have pretty little wings and halos over their heads. Their hair is curly and very soft and each one wears a pretty dress of a different color. Larry bought me a brunette one a long time ago and I bought a red haired one later on. I just had the feeling that I would eventually have a little girl to share them with. It was a certainty, just like the feeling that I would eventually have another son, so I bought lots of stuff based on intuition. That's not to say the dolls have never been touched. The only one I've managed to keep myself from removing from her box is my Queen Amidala (she has a little hood that slips on over her head so she can go into disguise as Padme Neberrie - very cool!). Everyone else has been hugged. How could anyone see something so cute and not want to hug it? I've always been drawn to soft things, lots of which are often fuzzy, bears and baby dolls especially.

I missed going out to see LOTR for yet another weekend. John was going to try to get FF to take him to visit my brother but they never were able to get in touch with him so he didn't go. By the time he got home I was already busy cleaning out the babies' room and didn't want to stop. They had so many clothes in their dressers, most of which were just a few weeks past being outgrown, in addition to the junk that needed to be thrown away. Cleaning out their closet almost put me back into therapy. There's an epsiode of the Fairly Oddparents in which the Crimson Chin realizes that he's a comic book character and freaks out, curling up into a fetal position and sucking his thumb throughout most of the show. I had that same feeling yesterday. From dressers to closet the whole job took about five hours, including the hundred or so times Larry or the kids interrupted me for something. I'm so glad that's over.

I had to resign from the review sites. I just have too much to do. Unfortunately the last review I did was for a site that at first looks like a journal but the diary part is just an add-on, almost an afterthought. The two girls who share it seem to have more interest in their webcams and their porn site than any serious journaling. The writing was absolute shit, what there was of it. They only had about six entries and it was all about their boyfriends and friends or going to the mall and whatnot. It was written in trendoid and really hard to like. I sent it out and didn't save the link, otherwise I might have posted it here. That seems like a rather unkind thing to do to my readers, though.

It should be going up at Dream Review within the next few days if anyone wants to see it.

I just realized that this entry was probably a whole lot of nothing.

Ah well...I can't be bummed out all of the time, and to be honest I suspect that it's mostly my pain that makes me interesting.

* laughing *

Yup, I still suck.
