Yee-haw!!

It was a nice visit for the most part, I spoke to my cousin for a few minutes and that was hard, though. Apparently she had been calling my grandmother's house every few minutes (never mind that my grandmother is crippled and in pain right now, you incredibly stupid, insensitive bitch), trying to reach me. The time I spent on the phone with her was one of the longest twenty minute periods of my life, listening to her rant on about her mother (lying about her mother is more accurate), rant about the guards at the jail and about the food.

She feels that the guards are having a little power trip at the inmates expense and that the food sucks and is loaded with too much starch. At over 190, she now weighs more than I do.

Well, excusez' moi, but what does she expect? The term jail does not imply frilly curtains, room service and meals catered by the Cordon Bleu. She's in there because she didn't meet the terms of her probation and was out doing coke and booze again. It's not a fucking spa, it's a shitty little slam in Roanoke and having been there four times previously it isn't unreasonable to expect her to remember that.

We had a cookout and that was nice, especially since my grandmother was actually able to make it outside without being in too much pain. Those Vioxx are great and they're doing her some good, but she's nowhere near as mobile as she used to be, even with the pharmaceuticals. Maybe they have to be in her system a little longer before she gets the full benefit. Antidepressants and allergy drugs are like that, maybe these are too.
